Technical Language:
Find out what a Dolly Grip is. Have you ever sat in a cinema, during the end titles, and wondered what all those weird and wonderful job titles meant? Who or what is a Gaffer? What about a Best Boy. All the 'job titles' are in the Ebook, and if you are speaking the language from your very first day on set, they will never know you are a beginner.
Agents' names, telephone numbers and addresses:
The only Agent's in the book are ones known to me. Either I have had work from them or my buddies have. So you can contact any of them with confidence knowing they are going to do their absolute best for you.
Film studios addresses:
When you do get the contracts, it would be useful to know where you are going, and if you don't have to ask the Agent, it looks like you have experience. Studios are hard to find, they are mostly in remote areas...so this knowledge is vital.
Television studios addresses:
Just as the Film Studios, the TV Studios are located in 'hard to find' locations, but this time, in Cities....you have to be on time [that is one of the big secrets] so the locations are so important.
Television Companies telephone numbers and addresses:
Great for self-promotion, your face...your body....your 'look', could be the face, body, 'look', they are looking for.
Photographers names and numbers:
You will need professional photos at realistic prices. Holiday snaps are not going to make a great impression. There is a whole section in the book about photos and photographers. I have made recommendations to save you a lot of time and trouble . Phone them with confidence.
Organisations addresses:
Equity, BECTU, FAA, AAS, BAFTA, British Academy of stage and screen combat. They are all in there.....and more!
And lots of advice from me about the film industry and how to become a part of it.
